"I moved into an IMS property on 29 February 2012. When taking a shower that evening I found I could not get any hot water. I read the Instructions for the combi boiler, which had been left in a kitchen drawer. I followed the instructions in the manual but I still could not get any hot water to take a shower.

I reported the problem at approximately 11am the following day (1 March 2012) to a very polite man named Steve. Steve assurred me he would contact a plumber and call me back. Steve called me back within ten minutes to advise me he had got a plumber coming to take a look before 12 noon the same day. I advised Steve I was at work and could not get time out. Steve asked me if I would be comfortable him giving the plumber the spare front door key, which IMS have access to for when they carry out the property inspections. As IMS is a respectable company I presumed all the necessary security checks would have been carried out on all contractors working for the company. I advised Steve I would be happy with him to go ahead and give the plumber the key to gain access to the property.

Steve called me again at 12:30 pm to update me on the plumbers findings, and what had been done to put it right. Steve had excellent customer service skills and was professional each time I spoke to him.

When Steve answered the phone he announced the company name, he told me his name and asked how he could help. He listened very carefully and then reiterated what I had told him to make sure he had taken the information correctly. Steve also checked that my contact number that you held on your system was correct and asked if he could call me back on the same number.

I am a customer service contact manager myself and I have sent this e-mail to make sure Steve gets the recognition he deserves. Steve is an asset to your company. " - 3rd May 2012

Within 5 minutes I received an email saying that this had been sorted and a 5% increase had been agreed. Everyone is happy, and the tenants are coming in tomorrow to sign a new contract.
